It’s no secret Max Lucado sits high on my list of favorite communicators. He takes the complex and makes it simple. He creatively weaves words so we don’t miss the message. I recently heard him say, “We never have to leave the presence of God. No place we go is absent of God. There’s not a day in your week that is an unholy day. Our sensitivity to His presence may diminish, but His presence doesn’t depend on our awareness. His presence really never ceases.”
While comforting disciples in John 14, Jesus, the Way, the Truth and the Life, explains how this constant presence was possible for them and now for us. He lovingly told them, “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever – the Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. … The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”
Knowing the Spirit of Jesus is always with us provides incredible comfort, strength and encouragement. God has revealed His will for all His children through His word, but it is His specific will shared by the Spirit that touches each of our hearts and provides exactly what we need at just the right time.
I want to try something a little different this week and share a video I recently discovered. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words and this says it so well. Please watch until the very end. I promise you won’t be sorry. Let me know what you think. May you feel His nudge to do good, experience His comfort in difficult times, enjoy Him celebrating your joy and accept the help He offers through the hands of friends.
